Four games averaged above eight goals apiece as local clubs in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League packed their shooting boots on Saturday.
The big derby saw Albion Sports edge a nine-goal thriller at Clayborn as they beat hosts Liversedge 5-4.
Albion romped to a 5-1 half-time lead but Sedge mounted a spirited fightback after the interval.
The home side actually opened the scoring, with Ben Grech-Brooksbank netting a first-minute header. But Albion soon hit back as skipper Asif Hussain netted a tenth-minute penalty following a handball offence.
The Facey brothers were both on target for the second game on the trot, with Danny netting either side of a Delroy strike as the visitors raced into a 4-1 lead before the midway point of the first half, Tom Dugdale adding a 36th-minute screamer.
But the second half was all Sedge, with Gibril Bojang scoring from a tight angle, Wes Milnes firing in from the edge of the area and Grech-Brooksbank adding his second in the last minute.
There was a shock for second-placed Thackley as they were hammered 7-2 at mid-table Pickering Town.
The Dennyboys were well off the pace even though they, like neighbours Liversedge, took a first-minute lead.
Nicky Matthews opened the scoring but he was carried off with what looked like a bad injury on the stroke of half-time.
Pickering were 5-1 up at that point and soon made it six. And although David Brown added a late goal for Thackley, the home side banged in another in the last minute.
Joe Danby and Josh Greening both hit hat-tricks for Pickering and Tom Adams was also on target.
Third-placed Brighouse Town put in a five-star performance at fellow high-fliers Retford United to move within three points of Thackley.
Town took a three-goal lead into the half-time break on their way to a 5-2 win.
Tom Matthews scored first before Danny Naidole, who it was announced on the morning of the game has signed dual registration forms with Park Avenue, bagged a brace.
Retford’s Jack Cross made it 3-1 but strikes from Adam Wilson and Ryan Hall re-established Town’s dominance, before Lee Holmes netted the home side’s second.
Eccleshill United banked a point from a 4-4 draw at home to struggling Hallam in Division One.
The visitors were 2-0 up at the interval after Sam Eckhardt had netted two penalties.
But just five minutes into the second half the Eagles were a goal to the good after a quickfire brace from Viktor Balis and a Connor Shefte strike.
Eckhardt scored from open play to level the scores again before Jake Bradbury put Hallam back in front. But the Eagles bagged a point courtesy of Tyler Tarango’s last-minute equaliser.
