Managerless Liversedge host erratic Albion Sports in the big weekend derby in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Sedge boss Eric Gilchrist quit due to work commitments over a week ago so senior player James Riorden was placed in temporary charge as player-manager, assisted by reserve team duo Paul Murphy and Dave Thompson.

Riorden kicked off his stint in the hot-seat with a gutsy 2-1 defeat against local rivals Thackley at the weekend.

The club have no immediate plans to make further changes so he is likely to be at the helm for a period of time while Sedge take stock.

Their visitors Albion boosted their points tally in midweek with a 4-0 win.

Thackley will be seeking to reclaim the leadership on Saturday but will face a difficult task at Pickering Town.

The Dennyboys lost their top spot as they had a blank midweek. They were deposed by Tadcaster Albion, who are just one point ahead of Thackley and have played three games more.

Saturday's hosts Pickering are hovering in mid-table but are traditionally strong at home.

Another big game sees Thackley’s two closest challengers going head-to-head, with third playing fourth as Retford United host Brighouse Town.

Both clubs trail Thackley by six points.

In Division One, Eccleshill United have home advantage over struggling Hallam.

The Eagles got back to winning ways at Hemsworth last weekend and moved up to fifth place. Hallam are just one point off the foot of the table and are above the drop zone on goal difference.

Silsden face a difficult trip in the North West Counties Premier Division as they journey to Merseyside to take on Bootle.

The home side are in the top six, ten places above the Cobbydalers, who could be suffering from a crisis of confidence after a home defeat to relegation-threatened Bacup & Rossendale Borough on Wednesday.
