Guiseley’s under-18s have won through to the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup following an extra-time victory over Grimsby.
They will now face Bury at Gigg Lane, with the tie having to be played by Saturday, November 9.
If they win they will be away to either Rotherham or Fleetwood in the second round.
After fighting through the initial qualifying rounds they came up against Grimsby at Blundell Park in the final qualifying round.
Despite dominating the tie, the Lions young guns could not break the deadlock and the tie finished 0-0 after 90 minutes. However, Luke Porritt and Ben Whitfield grabbed the goals in extra-time to cap an impressive achievement for the youth side, who are in just their second year.
All the players attend Carr Manor Community School in Leeds and have been studying a Btec Level 3 in Sport while training in the afternoons three times a week.
After a tough inaugural season, this season they are unbeaten in the FA Youth Cup and the Conference Youth Alliance, winning all but one fixture against both semi-professional and professional clubs.
The team’s manager and PE teacher, David Currie – who is assisted by Guiseley centre-back Danny Ellis – explained: “The school and club are very lucky to have a group of lads who work hard consistently at training and it is a pleasure to work with them. We are proud of their achievements thus far.
“A number of the lads have had to take the disappointment of being released by pro clubs at 16, while others have come from local youth set-ups with no academy experience.
“Hopefully some of them can progress into first-team manager Mark Bower’s plans in the future or follow our former goalkeeper Tom Stewart into the professional ranks.”
