Yorkshire Amateur League side St Bede's have had a welcome change of fortune after a hectic couple of weeks.
After vandalism had made their Canal Road base unusable and the resignation of their first-team manager, who took some players with him, St Bede's have found a new togetherness in adversity.
They played at Peel Park instead and, with a couple of old players returning, defeated Campion Reserves 3-0 in the Bradford & District FA Saturday Cup.
Gary Sunderland gave Bede's a half-time lead, with Stephen Drake adding a second from a sweetly- timed free-kick.
The home side worked their socks off and this industry was rewarded when Sunderland got his second to give Bede's a third-round tie at Thackley Reserves.
There was no joy, however, for Calverley United, who lost 5-1 at Hunsworth, Nylle Rosendale getting the consolation goal.
Old Batelians booked a tricky third-round tie at Lower Hopton in the Heavy Woollen & District FA Cup, thanks to a 4-0 home win over Savile Youth, Stu Otway bagging a hat-trick and James McFarlane completing the scoring.
Churwell Lions were 2-0 ahead at Drighlington Malt Shovel after 30 minutes, Josh Cruddace and Ashley Oates netting, but Drighlington reduced the arrears before the break and scored twice more in the second half to pinch it.
Farnley Sports took the lead via an Adam Butterworth free-kick in the first round of the Leeds & District FA Saturday Senior Cup but finished up 4-2 losers at Beechwood Gate.
Three goals in ten second-half minutes were the decisive factor after Gate had equalised before half-time, a late own goal making the final score 4-2.
Stanningley Old Boys Reserves are into round three after a fine 3-0 victory at Robin Hood Athletic Reserves, one of the better second strings in the West Yorkshire League.
Even so, the final score did not reflect under-strength Stanningley's dominance, with Luke Harrop, Craig Harris and Dave Clark all finding the back of the net.
Stanningley Old Boys' Reserves were finalists in the Yorkshire Amateur League's Hancock Cup and now know their second-round opponents.
They are St Bede's Reserves, who won 1-0 at Leeds City old Boys' Reserves. After a cautious start from both teams following heavy defeats, Leeds City missed numerous chances before Ash Northin made them pay.
Morley Town Reserves won a humdinger 6-4 at Ealandians Reserves, with Martin Ross scoring five goals to take his tally to nine in two games.
He netted in the 35th, 57th, 63rd, 70th and 76th minutes, substitute Ben Hudson completing the rout in the 83rd minute.
Marksmen for Ealandians Reserves, who led twice, were Daz Archer (2), Rik Mollet and Chris Pollard.
Leaders Morley Town made it four wins from four games in Division One, defeating mid-table Gildersome Spurs Old Boys Reserves 4-2 away.
Scorwers for Gildersome Spurs were Daniel Norton and Adam Cater, Ryan Hartley (2), Kevin Mackay and Christopher Pearson.
