Dewsbury came mighty close to their first victory of the season in the Spen Valley League.
Not many would have given pointless Dewsbury much chance at home to leaders Route One Rovers in the Premier Division but they only lost 5-4.
Nine goals was a popular total, and 6-3 was the score as BD3 United defeated Girlington and TVR United beat Savile Youth.
It was also the tally as Vision saw off Abundant Life Church in the first round of the Spen Valley Challenge Cup, Marsh rather spoiling things by only scoring twice against Ravensthorpe Bulls, who managed – you guessed it – six goals.
Savile United climbed to third in the First Division with a 3-2 home win against Howden Clough, while Norfolk and Smokin Aces played out a 0-0 draw.
Savile Town and George Healey also drew (2-2), while Inter Batley beat Cleckheaton Sporting 5-1.
