Gildersome Spurs Old Boys were 'over the Moon' after their 3-1 home victory over Leeds Medics & Dentists in the first round of the Yorkshire Amateur League's Marflitt Cup.
Medics failed to make their possession count in a high-tempo match between Senior A Division rivals and went in 1-0 behind, Lee Thrush converting a penalty after Matty Jackson had been fouled.
The visitors deservedly equalised after 52 minutes through Niall Robinson, following good work by Sammy Bzeu, but substitutions on the hour (Steve Wales and Mike Hall) enabled Spurs to drive forwards with more purpose.
In the 82nd minute, Matty Moon finished a great move by netting from the edge of the penalty area, and six minutes later Wales finished well from the same distance to book a second round tie at home to Grangefield Old Boys.
The latter travelled to Almondburians and had the worst of the first half in unpleasant misty conditions.
The hosts could have been 3-0 ahead on a superb pitch but had to settle for a deflected 25-yard free-kick by Simon Marriott.
Senior A Division big guns Grangefield had a much better second half and took their chances, with Josh Spencer (2) and Kristian Dacre netting, although two were the result of deflections.
St Bede's Old Boys did all that was required to oust Senior B Division colleagues Rodillian and earn a tie at Fourth Division Leeds City Old Boys.
Man of the match Nathan Hurtault scored the first after being promoted from the reserves, and Lee Cornforth got the second goal.
Farsley Celtic Juniors won a physical battle 4-2 against visitors Beeston St Anthony's, Jonathan Kasher's 30-yard strike giving Juniors the lead in the first half.
A second-half own goal made it 2-0 before Saints netted but Adam Jesusco made it 3-1, only for Beeston to net again.
Farsley made the game safe after 80 minutes when Craig Farrand converted a penalty for handball. St Anthony's marksmen were Sam Broadbent and Patrick Courtney.
Senior A Division Old Batelians overwhelmed Division Two Woodhouse Moor Meths 7-1, Sam Newman being the star of the show with five goals, supported by Jermaine Moyce and Josh Bell.
The consolation goal for Woodhouse came from Jack Parker, with Batelians travelling to Ealandians in round two.
In the first round of the Hancock Cup, last season's finalists Stanningley Old Boys Reserves were almost upset victims at Fourth Division Farnley Sports Reserves.
A Shawn Gill double gave Sports a 2-0 lead before a late rally put the Senior B Division side through, with goals from Craig Harris, Luke Harrop and Liam Mallinson.
Batelians Reserves took the lead via Nathan Hallas against Gildersome Spurs Reserves, but the latter got the next six via in-form Mikey Durham (3), Adam Cater, Jordan Clifford-Townend and Mark Suffield. Spurs next host holders Leeds Medics & Dentists Reserves.
In the first round of the Hodgson Cup, Gildersome Spurs Thirds had to fight hard for a 2-1 victory at Modernians Fourths, Jacon Scott getting both the Spurs goals.
In Division Two, St Bede's Reserves were poor in losing 9-0 at home to Grangefield Old Boys Reserves, who climbned to second thanks to goals from Si Rothery (2), Chris Pearson (2), Sam Russell (2), Daniel Cuss, Glen Metcalfe and Scott Goodall.
Calverley United Reserves are off the mark in Division Three after a 4-2 home win against Thornesians Reserves.
United's goals came from man of the match Scott Barlow (2), Nylle Rosendale and Oli Harrison, Thornes' man of the match Lee Fallas and Adam Naylor replying for Thornes, who are still without a win.
