Bradford Dudley Hill marched into the quarter-finals of the RFL Tier Three Challenge Cup with a stunning 27-18 victory at much-fancied National Conference Premier Division giants West Hull.
Division One high-fliers Hill trailed 10-8 at the interval after touchdowns from Nathan Kitson and Elliott Cousins But the forwards came out and dominated in the second half, with Willy Woodhead and Adam Jefferson creating the platform for their flair colleagues to perform.
A crucial brace from destructive wingman Neil Wall and another Kitson effort set up the chance for the surprise victory.
Hooker Kitson was again a major contributor, kicking three conversions, and Wall added a drop goal to thwart the Humberside hosts’ ambitions.
But the draw for the last eight has not been kind to Hill, who now travel to meet another Premier Division outfit in the form of mid-table Wigan St Patricks on Saturday, July 13.
