Eccleshill United director of football Mark Ellis confirmed that the club will have a new head coach in place for next season after Bobby Davison’s short stint at the helm.
Former Leeds United striker and Bradford City assistant boss Davison was in charge of Eagles team affairs but his agreement was just until the end of the season.
He leaves big shoes to fill but Ellis is confident that he can bring another top manager/coach to Plumpton Park.
Former Bantams winger Ellis said: “Bobby made it plain that he was only here until the end of the season, so I always knew it would be short term.
“Bobby will be difficult to replace because he came in and did a great job. He stabilised the club and brought the players on a lot. He worked well with them and they responded to him and they were all sorry to see him go.
“It was a transitional season but I’m quite happy with how we finished. We had a really young team, probably the youngest in the league, but they learned a lot.
“It is a difficult league, very tough mentally and physically, which has been good for the lads at this stage in their development.”
Ellis already had some coaches in mind because he was aware that Davison was looking to get back into the Football league in some capacity. He will take his time over the summer to make certain he makes the right appointment.
He said: “Eccleshill, and football club chairman Adrian Benson in particular, have been very positive regarding the RIASA programme and we have formed a special relationship that works very well. I’m looking forward to even more success all round.
“I can’t speak highly enough of Bobby and what he did for the club and the players over the last six months but, as any sensible person would, I never stopped looking for options.
“We all know Bobby has worked at the top level and it shows. But he was only here short term, so I have been looking at possible replacements and hope to consult with Adrian and have someone in place ready for pre-season.”
