Mark Lawn has offered a cheeky thank you to Rotherham boss Steve Evans for writing off City’s promotion chances.
Evans predicted that the Bantams would miss out on the play-offs altogether after his Millers won at Valley Parade last month.
But as the sides prepare to meet again next season in League One, Lawn could not resist the chance to have a pop back.
The City joint-chairman said: “We’ve had a ‘well done’ message from Rotherham, which was nice after what their manager was saying. But I get on great with their chairman Tony Stewart.
“Maybe Steve Evans said we’d win nowt to give us a bit of a psychological boost. He seems to be good at those mind games and it certainly helped us – so thanks a lot, Steve.”
