Evo-Stik Division One North final position 14th (P42 W13 D10 L19 F72 A80 GD-8 Pts49)

It was a forgettable campaign for Farsley, and manager Neil Parsley was glad to see the back of it - but, after being given the backing of club chairman John Palmer and the board, the boss is undertaking a summer of change.

After finishing below halfway in Evo-Stik Division One North just a season after ending in the play-offs, Parsley has decided to revamp the squad.

The best attribute of the season just completed was Adam Priestley, who was a summer signing from cash-strapped Garforth Town.

The season promised much and began well with a 1-1 draw at Lancaster City before a stimulating 5-3 home win over Salford City.

Priestley was on target from the off and claimed three of Farsley’s first six goals in those two opening fixtures.

Problems arose early on, however, as Parsley’s men struggled in the cups, having just one pay-day from the often lucrative FA Cup and FA Trophy.

A preliminary round victory in the FA Cup was the only pay cheque, and the exits in both competitions came from clubs struggling in Farsley’s own division.

There was also a humbling defeat in the West Riding County Cup as Farsley lost 4-1 at home to Albion Sports, who were in only their second season on the non-league ladder.

Farsley rallied in the league, putting together a six-match winning streak but then slumped by taking just two points from the next five games.

A ten game unbeaten run then lifted Farsley back to the fringes of the play-off places and saw them progress in the League Cup.

But the indifferent league form turned into dreadful league form, and by the time Farsley travelled to Evo-Stik Premier Division Matlock Town in the quarter-finals of the League Cup in the middle of March, their play-off hopes had gone up in smoke.

Pinning everything on a win and a possible semi-final to keep their season alive blew up in their faces as they lost 3-1.
