Bradford Dudley Hill 58, Heworth 10

Nathan Kitson helped himself to a hat-trick of tries before half-time as he stepped in as an emergency scrum half to help Bradford Dudley Hill post a comfortable victory over Heworth in the opening round of the RFL Conference Challenge Trophy.

The York-based visitors had no answer to the pace and power of their hosts, who rattled up a 36-6 interval lead with further touchdowns from centre Martin Southwell and forward duo Adam Jefferson and Steve Lamont.

Dudley Hill eased off in the second half but still managed to collect further tries from Neil Wall (2), Jamie Steward and Isaac Brown.

Kitson continued to add to the total with the boot, finishing the game with a commendable 30-point tally to walk away with the man of the match award.
