Stanningley Albion have just become the first team to win five consecutive Bradford Sunday Alliance League titles, taking them from Division Four newcomers in 2008-09 to promotion into the Premier Division as First Division champions.
The club has been developed from the successful Stanningley Albion junior team that present coach Mick Sanderson formed in 1998.
Starting as under-eights and continuing up to under-17s, they joined the Bradford Sunday Alliance League as an open-age side in 2008, winning Division Four in their debut season.
Barry Watson became manager in 2009-10 as the team won the double of Divison 3B and Amateur Cup while remaining unbeaten in the league.
The Division 2A title followed in 2010-11 with 18 straight wins.
Last season, Stanningley lost their unbeaten 83-game league run but still won the Division 1B and Intermediate Cup double.
Despite suffering many injuries this season, a late run of six straight wins helped them win the First Division, thus achieving their long-term goal of promotion to the top flight.
Stanningley Albion play their home games at Woodhall Park, train at Priesthorpe School in Pudsey and are run from the Jug & Barrel pub in Stanningley.
Although players have come and gone over the years, there are still three lads who played in the original under-eights team, and ten of the present squad have nearly 100 years service to the club between them.
Stanningley Albion Junior Football Club are now an FA Charter Development Club, with 15 junior teams covering nine age groups.
