Guiseley and FC Halifax Town will be separated at Nethermoor on Saturday, unlike the season’s other three derby clashes between the near neighbours.
The two Blue Square Bet North fixtures and Tuesday’s play-off semi-final first leg all finished 1-1 but the second leg will go to extra time and penalties if necessary to decide which of the West Yorkshire clubs will go into the one-off play-off final.
Guiseley have home advantage in this crucial meeting by virtue of the fact that they finished higher in the table than the Shaymen.
The Lions were runners-up, for a second season on the trot, and had a 16-point cushion over this weekend's visitors.
That means nothing now, according to Lions boss Steve Kittrick, who said: "All of the league form goes out of the window because these play-offs are cup football. It's knockout action and you have to do what you can to win that particular game.
“We wanted to stay in the tie in the first game, not get beaten and go into the second leg with an even chance.
"Hopefully we will get the job finished at home, but, Neil (Halifax manager Aspin) will be thinking along the same lines.
“Neil is a cute manager, he is experienced and has built an excellent squad at his club, but I have to concentrate on my side.
"You have to look out for yourselves and that is why I, and probably Neil, have taken very little interest in the other semi-final. That is just another game somewhere else that will only affect whoever wins this game.
“This game, the one both us and Halifax can influence, will produce a winner.
"It could come down to penalties but I hope not because that is an awful way to lose. It’s not a good way to win but at least you progress if you do it that way.
“I think it will be a tight game, might go to extra-time, because two very good teams are playing for a big prize. I think it will be settled before the lottery of a penalty shoot-out and the winner will be one game away from Conference Premier football, and that is a big carrot.”
The Guiseley boss has had no injury problems from Tuesday’s first leg but will be without Wayne Brooksby, who is ruled out through an earlier injury, and the suspended Kevin Holsgrove.
