There promises to be a party atmosphere at Horsfall Stadium on Saturday as Albion Sports’ championship-winning season comes to a close with a final home game.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s men won the Baris Northern Counties East League Division One title with a game to spare but they sign off with a home fixture against mid-table Teversal.

Albion go into the game seven points clear at the summit, knowing that even a draw would see them break through the 90-point barrier for the campaign.

They will, however, be looking to go into a summer of preparation for the Premier Division with a win.

In that top tier, Thackley host third-placed Bridlington Town in their last league fixture but it will not bring an end to the Dennyboys’ season because they will be contesting the League Cup final on Bank Holiday Monday.

Visitors Brid have had a fine season but their 91 points only puts them five behind Thackley’s neighbours Brighouse Town, who claimed the runners-up spot.

Liversedge also end their campaign with a home game as they host sixth-placed Pickering Town.

Sedge have enjoyed back-to-back wins and will want to go into the summer in style with a home victory.

Farsley will be looking to avoid an eighth straight defeat as they end their frustrating season with a home game against Bamber Bridge on Saturday.

The home side did not pick up a single point from their seven Evo-Stik Division One North fixtures in April and they have failed to score in their last four games. The run has been very damaging, with several heavy losses.

In the last calendar month, conceded 25 goals while scoring just five. They will be hoping May brings at least one ray of sunshine before the close season.

Farsley are in the bottom half of the table while their Lancashire visitors are a buoyant ninth, but effectively this is a clash of two mid-table also-rans, neither going in any direction. The only target for Farsley is to breach the 50-point barrier.

Silsden guaranteed their safety in the North West Counties League Premier Division with a 2-1 home win over fellow strugglers Alsager Town last weekend.

They sign off ahead of the close season with another home game, and they will be relaxed as they take on sixth-placed Runcorn Linnets.

The Cobbydalers are six points above the drop zone but with only three points left to play for, their status in the top flight is assured.
