Phil Parkinson admits he is running out of superlatives to describe Gary Jones after the skipper was named in the PFA League Two team of the year.

Jones was the sole Bantam to be selected in the vote by their fellow players. He had also previously been short-listed for the Football League player of the year.

Parkinson said: “Gaz has got the ability to read a game and the ball always seems to come to him – it’s like a magnet.

“I dread to think how many touches of the ball he had against Burton last week. It just keeps dropping to him.

“He gets his energy from living right and being a real professional. He’s also prepared to push himself and his body and does that terrifically well.”
