Top-of-the-table rivals Buttershaw White Star and West Bowling met in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League's Premier Division.
Not surprisingly there was little to choose between the defending champions and West Bowling, and it took a solitary Joe Jagger goal by the latter to separate the teams after 85 minutes and end White Star's unbeaten league record.
Ten minutes before the Jagger goal, White Star had hit the woodwork.
This victory leaves Bowling in with a chance of the title if both clubs win their remaining fixtures.
In the last fortnight these two giants of Bradford Sunday soccer have clashed three times in important games, Buttershaw ended the Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup holders' reign with a 3-1 victory at Thackley last Thursday evening after West Bowling had done the same thing to holders White Star by the same score at Rawdon Meadows in a League Cup semi-final.
Add to that the teams sharing the points and two goals in the league encounter at Emsley's Recreation Ground earlier in the season, and there is very little to choose between the two.
In Division One, Stanningley Albion had a 4-2 victory over Peel Park in a stormy encounter, with a brace from Andy Kenyon and one each from Luke Hunter and Chris Cairns securing the points.
George Hotel also kept alive their promotion hopes with a 3-1 victory over Oakenshaw.
In Division 1A, leaders Allerton hit eight against Undercliffe, with braces from Jody Crompton, Bobby Canning and Tony Yeadon, while in Division 1B, White Hart beat Beldon Sports 3-1, their scorers being Adam Hague (2) and Carl Roberts.
Second-placed Pudsey Amateurs beat long-time Division 2B, leaders Swaine Green 2-1 to narrow the gap at the top of the table, and Grass Greener beat Salthorn 3-2 to remain in a challenging position if either of the top clubs slip up.
In Division 3B, Sporting Pudsey opened up a five-point gap at the top over opponents Toller with a 5-1 victory.
