Neighbours Guiseley and FC Halifax Town fought another close game but the Lions got the point they needed to secure runners-up spot in Blue Square Bet North for a second season on the spin.
That will give Guiseley home advantage for the crucial second leg of the play-offs as they look to avoid successive disappointments in the end-of-season extras.
They could conceivably be up against the Shaymen home and away again and after this clash it would impossible to pick a winner.
It was a bright start from both sides, with Gavin Rothery firing wide from the edge of the area.
The deadlock was broken just six minutes before the break from the penalty spot, Josh Wilson slotting in after Seb Carole was fouled in the area.
It was all level again though as the Shaymen’s Lee Gregory pounced just three minutes after the interval to restore parity.
Lions boss Steve Kittrick said: “I thought we were the better side in the first half but once again we didn’t continue that into the second half.
“I went to watch them (Halifax) on Thursday and I thought they had a few players who looked leggy.
“Seb lost the ball just once in the whole game and they go and score. Halifax were at home and made it difficult after that. Neil (Aspin) is a cute manager and he knows what he is doing.
“We could be back here again in the play-offs and so we have to lift our game and play the full 90 minutes.”
