Lee Sinnott will be back at Horsfall Stadium tonight but in the opposition’s dugout as the former Bantams player brings his Altrincham team to Bradford Park Avenue.
‘Sinbad’ will be going head-to-head with Bradford boss John Deacey, who was his number two before succeeding him at Avenue.
The pair went through the same situation at previous club Farsley Celtic, so the two men know each other well and it is always an enthralling battle of wits when they clash.
This latest meeting has much riding on it as Avenue’s outside hopes of sneaking into the play-offs could be over with a home defeat. Altrincham, on the other hand, are very much in the promotion mix.
Avenue go into the game six points behind their Cheshire visitors with both sides having just four league games remaining.
Altrincham are just two points behind Halifax following the Shaymen’s 2-2 draw at Oxford City last night. They went a goal down but second-half strikes from James Bolton and Dan Gardner put them 2-1 in front before Oxford produced a last-gasp equaliser.
Harrogate Town’s 2-0 loss at Solihull Moors means they remain below sixth-placed Avenue on goal difference. Altrincham are in fifth spot, just inside the play-off places.
