Skipton Golf Club are encouraging ladies and girls to sign up for membership by staging an open afternoon and evening for them tomorrow (4-8pm).
The event is designed to familiarise attendees with the workings of a successful local golf club.
It will involve a tour of the clubhouse by friendly lady members, along with the opportunity to sign up for a free group taster session on the practice ground with club professional Peter Robinson.
Skipton ladies captain Ros Moloney said: “Golf appeals to all ages and here at the club we have a good mix of both younger and older girls and ladies – from juniors right through to senior citizens.
“The handicapping system makes golf an ideal sport no matter what level you are at, whether a beginner or a returning golfer.
“When it comes to playing golf, what better way is there to keep fit and at the same time enjoy the social atmosphere of a golf club.”
“We’ll even throw in a free glass of wine or soft drink and a goody bag to take home.”
