Farsley 1, Skelmersdale United 5

Evo-Stik Division One champions elect Skelmersdale United ripped Farsley apart in the first half at Throstle Nest to take an unassailable lead into the interval.

The visitors broke the deadlock after just 16 minutes when former Bradford Park Avenue and Rochdale striker Adam Morning shot home from just inside the area.

Lewis Field doubled Skem’s advantage with a good shot after a bustling run and, just after the half-hour, Robert McIntosh headed in their third.

There was still time for the home side to concede a penalty, and Sam Ashton converted the spot-kick.

Gareth Grant hit back for Farsley in the 57th minute but it was a token strike and Matty Hughes wrapped up the scoring with the visitors’ fifth.

Skelmersdale are 19 points clear at the top and now need just two points from their remaining five games to be crowned champions.
