Mark Lawn has warned City to expect plenty of “twists and turns” in the final fortnight of the play-off hunt.
The Bantams head for Chesterfield this afternoon in the precious seventh spot after their three-win burst.
With four games to go, joint-chairman Lawn is braced for a dramatic finale to their League Two campaign.
He said: “It’s always been a tight league. We’ve got to try to carry this form on and if we can do that, we’ll be in there.
“But there are four really tough games and there will be twists and turns before the end of the season.
“We won’t win them all but neither will the other teams up there. Maybe we should print the words ‘don’t panic’ on the front of the programme.
“We have that momentum right now but we have some good teams to play.
“Until it’s mathematically impossible, don’t give up – and likewise, until it’s certain that nobody can catch us, we’ve got to keep looking over our shoulder.”
Lawn called Tuesday’s win over Bristol Rovers their best performance yet as City reclaimed a play-off place for the first time in more than three months.
He said: “I’ve got to be quite honest. After Exeter, I turned round and said ‘that’s it’. I couldn’t see any way of getting into the play-offs – and now we’re up there again.
“Bear in mind we have the hardest run-in but it is in our hands. And what I saw on Tuesday night, I thought that was our best game of the season.
“If we can get to that standard again, I think we will get to the play-offs.”
Chesterfield must win today to stay in the hunt and Lawn feels their attacking approach can play into City’s hands, especially for speed merchants like Nahki Wells and Kyel Reid.
“Bristol Rovers were a good footballing side, even with two or three players out, and what helped us was that they didn’t come to park the bus,” he said.
“Likewise, Chesterfield have to beat us. They need the points so I can see a very open game.
“That flow helps Nahki because he’s got blistering speed when he wants to get going. Reidy is the same and (James) Meredith helps push him up that field.
“I could also mention Gary Jones and the fact that Garry Thompson’s hit his best form of the season. It’s a whole team effort.
“But the key characters are the ones with pace which scares defenders.”
