Bobby Davison has worked wonders with the Eagles since his arrival and will leave some big shoes to fill when he moves on at the end of the season.
The former Leeds United striker confirmed his intentions some time ago and has only a handful of games to see out.
As a former assistant-boss with the Bantams, and having managed and coached at top levels abroad, he is keen to land another high-profile role.
Davison said: “It was always going to be a short term thing from my point and Mark (Ellis, Eccleshill’s director of football) knew that.
“I have enjoyed my time here and working with these young players.
“I’d like to think it has been good for Eccleshill as well and they are very nice people at this club.”
Davison took over when Ian Banks, another former City assistant-manager, quit because of disappointing results.
That was in November and the Eagles were 18th in the Baris Northern Counties East Division One.
After two defeats and several postponements, Davidson’s influence began to have an effect. An eight-match unbeaten run followed and Davison has overseen nine victories, two draws and just one loss since.
He will leave on the best possible terms, adding: “I really enjoy developing players and I have had that opportunity here, working with the boys from the RIASA Academy.
“A lot of them will go on to have careers in the full-time game. They have the talent and desire and I hope I’ve helped improve their overall game.
“We have got a few of them down to Valley Parade into Bradford City’s development squad and they don’t look out of place.
“There is the potential for more of them to join the youth ranks at Bradford but I said to Mark that we have to be careful not to let them go down there until they’re ready.
“If they are good enough they will prove it in time. But I would like to move on now and coach or manage full time.
“I’m getting under the wife’s feet at the moment because I’m at home too much.”
