It is potential make or break for Brighouse Town on Saturday as the top two in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division go head to head at the Dual Seal Stadium.
Town are second and host leaders Scarborough Athletic, who are six points better off but have played two games more.
If Town can capitalise on home advantage, they would become favourites for the title and the one promotion place that goes with it.
The Seadogs have set a relentless pace but Town have stayed with them, while Bridlington Town have faded over the last few weeks. Bridlington’s recent slump has left them trailing Brighouse by ten points with just one game in hand.
Brid still have a mathematical chance of the championship, so they cannot allow their heads to drop, which is bad news for Liversedge, who head to the east coast to take them on.
Thackley enter the last five games of Vince Brockie’s tenure when they go to Retford United.
The Dennyboys will be looking to get back into the top eight but sixth-placed Retford will provide stern opposition.
Albion Sports are already top of the tree in the lower tier after a 2-0 home victory over fourth-placed Knaresborough Town last night.
That puts Kulwinder Sandhu’s men in the driving seat with the title and promotion to the Premier Division beckoning.
Ahead of Saturday's trip to mid-table Clipstone Welfare, the Albion boss said: “There are just five games to go and we have no new injuries so we will see how we go - we know there is still a lot of work to do.”
Clipstone are on the same points total as Eccleshill United but the Eagles are above them on goal difference following their 6-1 midweek success over Rossington Main.
The Eagles could do neighbours Albion a good turn if they win at home against Cleethorpes Town, who are third and eight points behind the new leaders having played the same number of games.
Struggling Silsden face another tough test in the North West Counties League Premier Division as they head to fifth-placed Winsford United.
The Cobbydalers earned another point towards safety when they drew 2-2 at fellow relegation candidates Ashton Athletic in midweek.
Mike Garrod was unavailable for that game but returns to the squad for Saturday.
