Bradford Park Avenue will want quick revenge for defeat in the reverse fixture as they head to Oxford City in Blue Square Bet North tomorrow night.

Avenue’s play-off hopes suffered a blow when they were beaten at home by mid-table Oxford and that defeat is fresh in the memory as it was only yesterday evening.

With all of the clubs facing fixture chaos due to the extended wintry weather, many of them – like Avenue and neighbours Guiseley – are playing more than one midweek game between their scheduled Saturday fixtures.

That means the play-off situation is fluid and while Avenue could have climbed above play-off rivals Harrogate Town with a win on Monday, that all changed tonight when Harrogate won to open up a three-point gap.

Avenue boss John Deacey was pleased with the performance of his players despite their 2-1 home loss and insists his team are not out of the reckoning just yet.

Deacey said: “There will be more twists and turns before the end of the season.

“We have lost one game out of the last ten, which is pretty good, and we played well against Oxford.”

Deacey will be hoping Alex Davidson (knee) and Martin Drury (ankle), who both missed Monday’s game, will be fit to travel.

Meanwhile, the two local clubs in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division both have home games tomorrow.

Albion Sports will go top with a home win over fourth-placed Knaresborough Town after leaders Athersley Recreation were held to a draw at Grimsby Borough last night, while Eccleshill United host Rossington Main.
