Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division West Bowling have been beaten for the first time in a West Riding County Sunday Cup semi-final.
They had to give second best to HT Sports, who the week before had been defeated by Merseyside opposition Oyster Martyrs in a semi-final of the FA Sunday Cup at Guiseley FC.
The season is by no means over for Bowling because they have already reached the final of the League Cup, beating arch-rivals Buttershaw White Star in the semi-finals, and they are also in the Bradford and District FA Sunday Cup semi-final on Thursday, April 18 when they face White Star at Thackley.
This match is only three days before the big two clash in what could be the Premier Division title decider at Manningham Mills.
Also at Woodlesford two nights earlier, Pudsey Amateurs lost 2-1 to Inter Athletic in a semi-final of the West Riding County FA Sunday Trophy.
The Pudsey team will now begin the mammoth task of catching up with their league fixtures, and if they win all their remaining games they could well become champions of Division 2B.
In the Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup semi-final at Thackley, Premier Division Dudley Hill Rangers had the edge over Division 1B Lane Ends, with goals from Paul Licence (penalty) after 30 minutes and Michael Murphy in the second half.
Dale Howard had equalised for Lane Ends five minutes after they had gone behind.
