Mark Lawn today hit out at Bradford Council for their “apathy” over City’s Capital One Cup heroics.
The club have been inundated with messages from well-wishers since shocking Arsenal to book their shot at Aston Villa in the last four.
But joint-chairman Lawn claimed that the local authority have not been among them.
He said: “It’s made a nice change to be getting some positive press for the club and for the city. People forget what the Arsenal result did for Bradford as a city – it lifted everyone.
“It’s just a bit of a shame that the council didn’t react in the same way as everybody else. We’ve had only one letter of congratulation from a councillor, Susan Hinchcliffe.
“Perhaps we are playing with the wrong-shaped ball...
“All our MPs have been in touch to say well done, David Ward, Gerry Sutcliffe and George Galloway and (Bulls owner) Omar Khan was at the game. But nothing from the council as a whole.
“How do you expect to attract businesses into the city centre when the biggest business in the area – and one that brings in a lot of people every other week – gets treated with such apathy?
“As a businessman I was very disappointed with their lack of reaction.”
Lawn is relishing the prospect of another full house at Valley Parade on Tuesday for the first leg. But he warned fans against getting too carried away.
He added: “It’s a lot more difficult over two legs and hopefully we can keep it tight at home and hopefully go down there with something to defend or on an even keel. Then it’s a one-off game and who knows.
“But can I just remind everybody that we are Fourth Division.
“What we have achieved and what Phil (Parkinson) has done is nothing short of miraculous in beating two Premier League sides. The stat that still makes me giggle is that we beat more top flight sides in 2012 than QPR.
“I’m not trying to detract from how well we’ve done but let’s be realistic.
“Aston Villa are a very good Premier League side and are going to give somebody a spanking at some point. We have to make sure that it’s not us.
“It will come together for them and they are going to be a very good young team. They are improving and nearly there and Paul Lambert is a good manager who I’m sure will keep them up this year.”
Meanwhile, defender Curtis Good's loan spell at City has been extended to February 2.
