SIR - I couldn't believe my eyes when I read about Mrs Summers's plight at the hands of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
How can they call this a service when an 82-year-old lady is left to shuffle on her bottom backwards up steps and along a corridor to get into her home? I appreciate the health and safety guidelines that are in place, but surely common sense should prevail.
How could these people stand by and watch this lady struggle? They should be ashamed of themselves.
I hope Mr Darley will let us all know the outcome of his investigation.
