SIR – It was nice to read something positive about Bradford for a change. (‘Traditions endure’, by Joe McHugh, Letters, August 31).
There are some people who will knock whatever is done to improve the city and willing it to fail.
I live within walking distance of the city centre, so I go in quite often on nice sunny days. Sadly we haven’t had many this summer.
The City Park is heaving with children having a splashing time in the pool and people relaxing on the ample grass banks. Kirkgate Shopping Centre is always busy.
Don’t tell me there aren’t enough shops in Bradford. People tend to forget Forster Square Retail Park. There must be about 40 big shops there, plenty of free parking, and a free bus service every ten minutes for those who find the hills difficult.
It would be nice if Westfield happened. But it wouldn’t be the end of the world if it didn’t, we’ve managed so far without it.
