SIR – Good old Cameron and Osborne, who both had the unmitigated gall to make an appearance at the Paralympic Games.

They obviously think the public are unaware that their contribution to Paralympic success has been, firstly, their zealous and ideological mission to re-assess all disability claimants, in the hope of cutting, or even better, getting them off benefits altogether. And secondly, their systematic closure of the Remploy factories. We should be in no doubt that the success of our disabled athletes is due in no small measure to ten years of Labour government. I shudder to even think of the plight of the disabled if this shower were to remain in power for more than one term.

But however insulting Cameron and Osborne’s presence may be, their insult pales into insignificance when measured against the corporation who are currently carrying out disability assessments for the Government.

Has anybody else noticed the ‘Atos’ advertising banners plastered all over the Olympic Park? Now that is shameless. Christopher Hindle, Osterley Grove, Bradford
