SIR – In this day and age, where it seems to be fashionable to knock nurses for their lack of care and compassion for the elderly, I feel I must write in praise of all the doctors and nurses on Ward 29 at the BRI.
My mum Hilda was admitted in mid-March and received first-class treatment from then on.
Nothing was too much trouble for Dr Birchenough and her team and I came to regard them as friends rather than doctors and nurses. I am convinced I was able to spend precious extra months with my mum due to their care and professionalism. There are too many people to name individually but I would just like to say a very sincere thank you to you all for all that you did for her.
Having experienced the care provided on ward 29 I won’t hear a word said against them. They truly are angels in uniform.
