SIR – May I respectfully suggest that council tax payers need not trouble to contact the local authority about matters of local importance because they are unlikely to received a reply or any action, such is my experience.
By way of example, I have written to the Council asking them to provide a bin for dog excrement in or near the fields adjacent to Carr Lane, Shipley .
There has been no response and there are no bins. The public are therefore likely to carry on as before, or be seen carrying dog poo (the latter unlikely), or leaving the dog poo bags on the field. The potential fine of £1,000 per the notice, is unlikely to make a jot of difference.
