SIR – In meadows, gardens and hedgerows everywhere, the dandelion is to be seen in the summer months. This year in the Aire Valley and Craven the golden flower head of the dandelion has rarely been seen.
The dandelion is an amazing, valuable plant – its minerals have a direct action in removing obstructions of the liver and kidneys and other viscera, and is a proven cure for arthritis.
The seasons are definitely changing. Two years ago in late December I drove over Keasden Head above Clapham. The gorse bushes were in full flower two months early.
Migration is on the change. The migrant birds are coming to our shores a month earlier in the spring and leaving a month earlier in the autumn.
Climate change could be the cause of our unpredictable weather and it is having a significant impact on the natural world.
