SIR – What does childhood mean to you?
International children’s charity World Vision UK has recently asked that question, prompting people to send in images and memories about their own childhoods. For me, at least part of the answer is fingers dipped into the biscuit tin as I watched my favourite TV programmes; another is meals shared with my family every evening.
World Vision wanted to shine a light on the situation in West Africa where millions children are losing their childhoods because of a food crisis. I share their hope that the childhood stories and memories will inspire people to do what they can to help give childhoods back in West Africa.
World Vision are currently taking donations to support West Africa and all donations before August 31 are being matched pound-for-pound by the Government. This helps children not just today, but also tomorrow and for many years to come.
I encourage everyone to do what they can to help.
