SIR – I was very pleased to read your article on Thursday, August 2 about improvements to Silsden Town Hall.

Comments are frequently made about how shabby the building looks and the fact that it does not have disabled access must be a priority concern.

It is good that the Council are working with members of the community to decide upon the improvements to enable the premises to become a success. This is a great opportunity for Silsden residents to have a central facility which can be used by everybody.

The relocation of the library into this building also looks promising, with improved opening hours and a commitment from the Library Service to promoting cultural events.

Silsden is looking for ways to promote itself as a town worth visiting and the improvement to the town hall could be key to this. So please, everybody, support this worthwhile venture.
