SIR – Congratulations to Alistair Brownlee and also to brother Jonny on their superb Olympic achievement.

It should be remembered that they learned almost all they know about athletics at Bradford Grammar School, the Haworth Woodentops Fell Racers, and Bingley Harriers, where they are still active members.

I think it would be appropriate, therefore, for this city to give them some official recognition, not only because they well deserve it but to emphasise the large part that Bradford has played in their success.
