SIR – The culprit in the Westfield saga is the lack of an end date in the agreement to develop, and my belief that they would never build appears confirmed (T&A, August 7).
The developer’s mind may have become more focused due to my suggestion that part of the site be protected for a Cross Rail Link.
Further stimulation needed, I now propose the remainder be compulsory-purchased at today’s values so that, to quote the article, “it will play out in a way that pleases the people”. Then we sack the person who forgot the end date!
