SIR – I would like to thank Mrs Bower, from Denholme (Letters, June 5), for raising a petition highlighting the issue of quad biking at the Flappit.

Ever since this facility closed, my community in Baildon has been plagued by the menace of quad bikers using our streets as their personal racing track.

The neighbourhood policing team now lists anti-social use of motorcycles and quads as its top local priority. However, they appear to be having only limited success.

If properly managed, the reopening of this facility could be used as an incentive for irresponsible bike owners to show more respect for others, a ‘carrot-and-stick’ approach.
