SIR – I am writing to you with regards to Emily Court Residential Home (T&A, May 28). I know how upsetting it must have been for the family of the lady who left the home unnoticed, but I feel I have to also write to you regarding a recent experience with Emily Court.
A dear friend has recently passed away. She spent her last four weeks at Emily Court and I visited her there. The staff and manager were so caring not only with my friend but myself and her family.
It is a very caring and friendly environment and nothing was too much trouble for them. They made you feel welcome and were genuinely loving and caring with my friend.
At my friend’s funeral two staff members from Emily Court attended and showed their respect for a lady who had only spent a short time there. This meant a lot to the family.
I do hope Emily Court can recover from this bad publicity. There are not enough of these caring homes and we need them.
