SIR – Anybody and everybody is allowed to protest, providing the protesters do so within the law, which the ones occupying the Westfield site have infringed by trespass.

It is absurd, as one of them demanded, to expect to be given not only fixed dates, but times as well.

One can well understand what would happen if, in Westfield’s discussions with national retailing groups, their saying: “Come on now we insist upon a time and date for your agreement of what we are offering.” You feel the protesters’ action might just make them think twice about their commitment to Bradford. I know I would.
