SIR - Regarding the article about Drighlington Cemetery (T&A, September 28). The families who have lost loved ones take the time and effort to look after the graves.
What difference does it make if they put chippings and edging around the graves?
If you visit the cemetery the plots that have chippings and edgings look lovingly cared for.
The rules and regulations from the so-called church authority need to be changed.
Michael and Lynne Barnes have suffered enough with the tragic death of Adele and will always suffer until the day they die.
Surely the church and their authority should show some compassion for all families involved in this ridiculous affair.
I know now that when the time comes I will instruct my family to make sure I am cremated as this episode is too much for my family to bear.
Mrs Carol Richardson, Moorside Gardens, Drighlington
