SIR - I would like to reassure Alec Suchi of the Bradford Rail Users' Group that a new station at Low Moor remains firmly on Metro and Bradford Council's agenda.

If he looks in Rail Plan 6, details of which were sent to the Bradford Rail User Group, he will see it states quite clearly that Metro's new station strategy will focus on developing proposals for Low Moor as well as Apperley Bridge, Horsforth and Kirkstall.

The Plan, which is published on the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan web site at www.wyltp.com, also states that Low Moor is currently the most advanced station in the priority list.

As we have explained previously, initial work showed that timetabling stops for a station at Low Moor would mean removing stops from other stations along the line.

Because Metro considered this unacceptable we have embarked upon a more detailed timetable review to find what is inevitably going to be a complex solution to enable Low Moor station to go ahead.

However the situation remains firmly at the negotiating table and, like Mr Suchi, we are eager for a satisfactory conclusion.
