SIR - Here we go again! Pensioners get free limited bus travel and then we are told, due to this fact, that our local bus service is to be scrapped.
Many local pensioners rely on this service, albeit a reduced one from the last cost-cutting fiasco.
In my opinion this was due to purchasing buses which were too large for this area, plus the bloody-mindedness of car owners who go out of their way to block the road rather than park in their drives.
It doesn't help when our local councillor suggests a compromise of an even more depleted service.
Bring back the smaller shop hoppers and reinstate the full service as was! The sale of the present buses and the running costs of the shop hoppers will cover the shortfall.
