SIR - I wonder if any of your readers have any information on a place that appears not to exist anymore called Feathercock Hall in Northallerton, North Yorkshire?
The house was owned and lived in by the King family around the 16th century. A member of the King family, Sir John King, was given lands in Boyle, County Roscommon in 1603 by Queen Elizabeth I and moved to Ireland where his family became owners of some of the biggest estates in the country which included Mitchelstown in County Cork.
Staff here in King House have carried out extensive research trying to find information on Feathercock Hall but with no success and were hoping that someone reading your paper would be able to shed some light on this past property.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I can be contacted on 00 353 71 96 63242, by e-mail on kinghouse@roscommoncoco.ie, or at the address below.
