SIR - While agreeing that graveyards should be kept neat and tidy, is it really necessary to have them all conform to a single pattern?

How boring Undercliffe Cemetery would be if that were the case. Edgings and chippings are neat although I think it is boring, but Mick Barnes (or anyone else for that matter) should be able to have what they want on a grave as long as they are willing to pay for it and keep the place tidy (T&A, September 28).

It is no coincidence that the Church of England and to some extent the Roman Catholic Church too are having to cut back on the number of clergy due to the straitjacketed religion that is being presented to the country.

I always thought that when Jesus said "Suffer the little children to come unto me" he was also including the population as a whole because are we not all the "children of God"? I notice that no Bishop of Anywhere dares to stick his head above the parapet and comment on this.
