SIR – I commend Phil Lightbody’s eagle-eyed work (Letters, January 26) in spotting my job title had been incorrectly given as ‘visitation economy manager’ in a story about the launch of the new district visitor guide.
As the visitor economy manager I’m responsible for overseeing the great work done to support the district’s visitor economy (the term which over the past few years has come to replace ‘tourism industry’ nationally).
Locally, the visitor economy is worth £332m to the district and 12,000 people work in the sector.
We attract thousands of people into the Bradford district every year and it is clear why when you look at everything included in the 2012 visitor guide.
I’d urge everyone, including Phil, to pick up a copy from their local visitor information centre or download it from visitbradford.com and make the most of the attractions included in it.
Patricia Tillotson, Visitor Economy Manager, Bradford Council
