SIR – Karl Dallas (T&A Letters, January 10) says that you know it makes sense to have an elected Mayor.
The fact that it is he who is saying it, just makes me even more certain that we do not need one.
We have elected MPs who elect a Prime Minister. Just once in a while this works, I suggest we elect a party, the Prime Minister as well as independent MPs.
