SIR – There was the expected spat (T&A, November 25) between Conservative Councillor Glen Miller and Labour leader Ian Greenwood after the former criticised the estimated cost of £434,000 spent by Bradford Council on union representatives’ facilities time.
Many Bradford residents would probably agree that, in these economically-difficult times, some of this large amount could possibly be better spent elsewhere.
But what is the reported reaction of Councillor Greenwood? He simply claims it to be an attack on human rights and on trade union activities.
No mention of considering that perhaps the amount is too high, and that he would look at ways to reduce it, for the benefit of the ratepayers of Bradford.
Once again, thank you Councillor Greenwood for confirmation that you appear to be one of the worst leaders that we have seen in our city for many years. Can the Labour party really do no better?
