SIR – I think Max Hey will find that David Cameron was talking about cutting the benefits of re-offenders, not everyone who has been found guilty and sentenced for breaking the law, so he can stop worrying that some of the ‘poor souls’ will be punished twice (Letters, November 10).
Anyway, Mr Hey ought to be more concerned about the welfare of the victims.
