SIR – On Saturday evening I purchased three small items from the online Apple store. The amounts were no more than £5 for each one, which I had to purchase seperately.
Twenty minutes later I received an automated phone call from supposedly the Santander Fraud Department.
I put the phone down on them thinking “SCAM”. Five minutes later another call and the same automated message, again I put the phone down.
After a few minutes I decided to ring Santander itself and, yes, they had tried to contact me to see if I had purchased three items within a few minutes of each other. Now I really call that being on the ball and congratulated them as last year I was a victim of internet fraud.
People are quick to criticise the banks if they have an issue with them so I thought I would once again say, “Thank you Santander for noticing what was happening to my account.”
