SIR – The Queensbury branch of the NatWest Bank is going to close on November 28, having been in the village since 1936.
I have been banking there for the last 16 years as a personal and business customer. I have to say most of the time there is always a long queue at the bank, so this closure cannot be through lack of custom.
I am very disappointed with NatWest, given all their advertising about being a ‘caring bank’.
They do in their notice offer the option of travelling to Wibsey or the town centres of Bradford or Halifax or banking on line.
I do not know if NatWest is aware of this, but you cannot put cash into a computer, and travelling to these places means closing and for some customers would be impossible.
Queensbury is a growing community, which it seems NatWest does not want to be a part of our community.
I think the best thing that one can say about NatWest, ‘The Caring Bank’ is that they could not care less.
